I am a Democrat jsut as I thought. I try not to get to tied up in polotics my family is major republicans and I cant argue anymore. I think im a democrate because I am very open minded and I do not judge another persons beliefs or who they love. We all deserve to be who we really are.
Overall my score for both quizzes turned out that I am in the middle. For instance when you look at my scores in regards to Economical matters I scored strongly Republican, but when you look at my score regarding social matters I scored more on the liberal side. Overall I am an Independent.
In my view both sides present logical and reasonable solutions just on different topics. For example, I don’t believe that the government should have any say in personal and private matters. I believe people can love and marry whom they please, or do as they please with their bodies, and that marijuana should be legal. I also believe that we need to tighten up immigration; I do not support amnesty in any form. I believe that there should be a time limit on welfare benefits, and that a majority of funding to DES and most of it's departments should be cut. I feel that people on welfare should have to turn in proof of a job search weekly, submit drug test monthly, and I don’t believe that anyone who is not a citizen should have access to financial aid or welfare. I do believe in charity, but I believe that you take care of your own before you extend the hand out abroad.Maybe if the parties actually worked together, and set their differences aside, they could find common sense solution for complicated problems. I did find interesting that my results were stronger on a republican side for both quizzes. I think that the current economical and social states also affect how anyone would score on these. I wonder if my scores would have been the same when Clinton was president, I know that I would have scored fully democratic while either one of the Bush’s were in office. Unfortunately, it ultimately comes down to picking the lesser of two evils when you cast your vote.
Based on my results I am a Liberal Democrat. As I stated in my previous post, I have never been involved with politics and this is the first time I have ever paid attention to some of the issues going on with re-elections. Because I am a mother now, a lot more issues get my attention, like education and health care. I am not completely zoned into the issues but I am more aware of what goes on. Although I do agree with the government enforcing laws and keeping people safe, there are other things that should have their limits such as abortion, and birth control pills.
I scored "very liberal" on the first quiz. The second quiz said that I am a democrat. Neither of these results were surprising to me. I do tend to be very liberal... I don't believe that the government should tell a person what to do with their bodies. I think that people should be given the right to marry whomever they want regardless of the gender. I don't think that other peoples religious views should dictate how another person lives their lives. I just want everyone to be happy and to have equal rights. I just don't see why the government should be able to tell someone what to do with their body or who they can marry. If that makes me a "liberal democrat", so be it. I think everyone has an equal right to be happy as long as it doesn't physically harm another person. That's one of the best parts of being an American- I can have my opinion and voice it.
Both Quizes showed that I'm very Conservative. I'm not suprised in the least bit. One of my biggest reasons is equal taxing. Taxing the "Rich" in my opinion is crazy. For one, they earned that money and deserve to be treated equally with everyone else. Two, the idea of taxing the rich more is fundamentally unstable. Your taking the money away from the people providing Jobs and creating businesses. In turn this would be taking away jobs. Also another reason my views are so strongly Republican is the fact that I was born and raised in a strong Baptist home. I've never been forced to view politics the way I do. But I've seen this side and it has influenced me tremendously. I believe gay marriage should be illegal because in the Bible it clearly states that a marriage should be between and a man and women. That by no means make me dislike homosexuals. Just means that I believe what they're doing is against my beliefs. I still have friends that are gay, doesn't make me judge them. I feel because i don't believe in gay marriage i get attacked for it, and accused of hatred towards others, when in reality I love them the same. Another reason why I'm strongly Republican, is the fact that i believe the government should stop wasting money on social programs that are abused by far too many. Many government programs should be privatized to include Social Security, Welfare and perhaps even education. Lastly I hold God above all things in my life so naturally i tend to stick close to the constitution and follow what I believe.
The results from both quizzes were that I am a independant democrat. According to the quizzes "I believe it is the govenment's job to take care of it's citizens ensuring things such as education, health care and freedom from descrimination." Which in fact is what I do believe strongly. I am a person that care a lot about schooling and health care. I have not been really updated with the current elections eventhough they do intrest me. I have been trying to freshen up but me being a teen sometimes I just choose to disgard all this campaigning that is going on. As a younger person though I believe that we should be more aware of what is going on because it is going to affecrt us more in the long run then anyone else. I try and see the debates and see every side with an open mind. Sometimes as I just do not really understand the importance of somethings and I see it easier than it is. I agree completely with what I got as my results from both quizzes because I am a very open minded person and just kind of go with the flow and just want and are comfortable with what every normal person needs and wants.
In this week’s assignment the main purpose was to see what political group I was for, either republican or democrat. Before I took the quizzes I managed to say that I was a Democrat. I’ve been a democrat because my mother is a democrat and she always told me the positive aspects of being a democrat. I agree with everything my mom thinks about the government because we have the same ideas. The choices the government makes affects both me and my mom because we used to live in the same household. Therefore, I would see how the government would help us and not help us. So I took the test to make sure I wasn’t agreeing with my mom just because she is my mother. Both the quizzes stated that I was indeed a democrat. I’m a democrat because I greatly believe that it’s the government’s job to take care of their people. One reason is because, that’s the whole reason for a government. If they weren’t present, our country would be in ruins. The quiz for the Pew Research Center also stated that most of the adults my age 18-29 are mostly democrat. This is true because these adults are barely becoming familiar with politics and barely starting to work in good jobs. Therefore, democratic ideals fit more into their daily lives. I believe this quiz was very accurate because all the characteristics of a democrat fit me. When it came to sex, women are the ones who tend to be democratic. In addition, when it came to Race, Hispanics were the ones to be democratic as well. For the presidential election, because I’m democratic, I will vote for President Obama. I believe that even though President Obama hasn’t complied with most of the promises he made back when he was running for President, I still have his back because in order to make big changes in a country, that was already messed up, takes time to make a difference. Four years is not enough time to make drastic changes. I believe that democrats are more open-minded about specific issues.
My result said Im a Democrat which I thought so, I believe that the government should take care of its people and the government should create laws and implement it but dont meddle or impose what they want to the people because it will violate the rights of the people. But Although Im a Democrat I have conservative beliefs too like my stance for Abortion I know it is Immoral but I still believe that its a personal choice.
My scores for the political party quizzes showed that I am in the middle, but slightly closer to Democrat. I expected this to be the case because my family is mostly Democrats, but I also agree with Republican views as well. For example, I believe that gay marriage should be legal and Americans should be able to marry who they want. I agree with an affordable health care system, but I do not agree with how the assistance programs are run. They are not monitored closely enough, and the working people suffer in many cases because of so many people receiving aid who shouldn't be or are abusing their benefits. I also believe that citizens should be able to own guns and not have to worry about the government trying to take them away. I tend to avoid politics so I am not very knowledgeable about political happenings. I should be, but I lose interest or get irritated easily. I need to do some research before the election.
According to the Pew quiz, I am a liberal Democrat. I am also a liberal Democrat according to the other quiz. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I believe a person's body is their own business. I believe that who a person loves and wants to marry is their business. I believe that prostitution should be legalized, as it should be up to a person what they do with their body. I try to not get into politics because I am fiercely set in my ways and usually, when a person gets into a political debate with me, their only "support" they have against what I have said and what I believe in is the bible. Religion should have no place in politics. Division of Church and State anyone?
After taking both quizzes, I was classified as a liberal Democrat, as a deem myself to be.
I believe all citizens have the right to voice their opinion, marry whom they please, and do what they please to their bodies, as long as they do not harm anyone else in the process. Sometimes I do not agree with most of the choices that people make towards these areas, but I do support the idea that they have a choice.
I also feel very strongly towards conserving the environment. The effort of a few people for this cause may seem like it does not make a difference, but it does more good than harm.
I also believe that the government should assist it's citizens more with healthcare and higher education. In regards to the education, I do not think that it should be completely free (because people would take obtaining a higher education for granted), but for financial aid to be more accessible than it currently is for unmarried students whom do not get support from their parents.
I'm not sure how accurate this is; I took the first quiz (pew political party quiz)twice, and the first time I ranked (under "overall") as an average democrat, and the second time, I ranked more to the right as a moderate democrat (under "overall"). On economic issues, I ranked exactly in the middle, and under "social issues," I ranked FAR left, even further than liberal democrat. I found this overall interesting, because I have obviously always had opinions on the topics that we were quizzed on, and I only knew them as my own opinions and what I believed to be right. My choice makes the most sense to me. However, I have never had a value been given for them, or had my ideas labeled as this or that, so I found it interesting to find what I would be called by someone observing me from the outside. I think that both sides have good and bad ideas, as with anything else in the world, and if an individual were to go too far to the left and think in absolutes, they are probably wrong, and if someone were to lean to the far right, and ignore any other ideas presented that were not far right, they too would be wrong. I think that there should be some sort of balance. So by my own argument, my political stance is wrong and I am out of balance. However, Like i said, MY ideas and opinions are right to me, and its what I believe is right, and "nobody is going to change my mind," (I want to clarify that there is a level of sarcasm here that cannot be conveyed on paper) much in the same way that you could never convince someone who believes that the world is flat that it is not. He would look outside and say, "look there, it looks flat, therefore it is."
On the second quiz we took, I came back as a "Green Party." I don't really care for that because in my head when I hear "green party," I think "drug using anti-war hippies that want to save the planet and eat granola," and I have never thought of myself in this light. So The green party isn't really what it seems then; I believe that we have only one earth, and although we wont destroy it, we will destroy our way of life. Through economic and technological development, we will never DESTROY the planet, it will survive. But we will not. At the rate of population growth and our current resources, we will destroy ourselves and probably about 1/3-1/2 of the species along with us, but the Earth will survive and it will keep spinning. So I don't see myself as an "earth loving hippie" kind of guy, I don't really like that connotation that I have in my head of "green party" to be associated with myself. Rather than be called that, I suppose I would prefer to be called a "lets keep the human race going at a steady, reasonable pace without catastrophic events due to overpopulation and over-extraction of resources and living beyond our means" kind of guy, assuming that my closest representation is the green party.
Overall, I think that I would not have liked any of the results I would have gotten because I like to have ideas but I don't like the ideas of being labeled as something for those ideas. Because although I scored as a democrat, I till have some very republican views on other topics, such as gun control. I couldn't possibly be any further right on that topic, but I'm still labeled as a democrat because I don't oppose abortion. I just feel that it is impractical to assign a measurable value to ideas, although I understand the necessity. As Alan watts says, "We define ourselves by those who oppose us; if we didn't have someone to argue with then we wouldn't know who we are." Without the space around it, matter has no form and is meaningless. In the event that there were suddenly no more republicans, and only democrats, what would happen? The democrats would split into subcategories, saying "these guys are too democratic," or "these guys aren't democratic enough" and they would attack each other. This has already happened within Christianity. In other words, we need an "out" guy in order to define ourselves as the "in" guy. Just the same, I think it is good to have ideas, but I don't like being labeled as an absolute on one side or the other because I agree and disagree with beliefs from both sides
With the two scores I got it was right on the money. I'm more of a Democratic Party but at the same times I'm undecided on some of the topics the Democratic Party choses. The government should help out with education but should not be discrimination on race or sex. As for help health care the government should pay for it fully if citizen needs help. The government should not interfere with how two consenting adults want to live their life and allowed them to get married. The right to have an abortion is the female right to do so or not but I understand the life is being removed, but the government should not interfere with the women’s reproductive system. EBT (food stamp card) I seen to many people abuse that system way too much and the citizens who really need it can’t get any assistance or they are given like under one hundred dollars for the mouth or less than that. I don’t think their rights to help citizens who are only have children so they have more government assistance. EBT should be more regulated. I know people have the right to eat what they want but I see a lot of people buying candy, chips, soda, and other items for reselling them. You should be feeding your family not abusing the system.
WOW! This is confirmation, as to how I was feeling about my position in politics this election. I never in a million years thought I could sway to a different side; however I knew from this election that my views have changed over this election as to what is truly important to me. I ended up testing as an independent! Which to me is crazy because I have always been such a strong democrat for the people by the people kind of girl!. My moral compass has moved in this election; one of the results from the quizzes stated that I was Green Party/Populist, which to me that makes sense! Though I was educated as to how the Green/Populist movement was created. The group got started in the 1800's; The group came about because all the wealth and influence was shifting to the elite in the cities, if we were too fast forward this to now it would have to be the shift it would be that other countries and the cities elites have gain control. The group was form to create to regain power back to the countryside but dissipated thereafter. However this makes sense now as to why the quiz showed how this group is gaining momentum because as a people some of us feel like were fading as a powerful country. The U.S. has imported so many of our jobs, products, and etc., and now the prevalent imbalance is much noticeable than ever before. Another quiz showed also that I was an independent and that is clear to me now. I feel that the system is failing and so therefore my eyes are more open now more than ever. Also this election has had a huge role in my decision as to who I will support.
Political Party Quiz Your Result: Green Party You are a populist and environmentalist. You believe corporate America is destroying not only this country, but the planet as a whole. Businesses should be forced to protect both it's workers and the environment. If industry is left to their own ends to will ruin our environment in which we all have to live while exploiting the working class. Result Breakdown: 76% Green Party 66% Democratic Party 65% Modern Whig Party 47% Republican Party 34% Constitution Party 32% Libertarian Party
"You are liberal. You believe it is the govenment's job to take care of it's citizens ensuring things such as education, health care and freedom from discrimination"
My results seem to fit me very well. I am for the people of this country and I tend to see myself trying or caring others. Especially with the career I am presuing, which is in the medical field, I see myself caring for all and not leaving their social status to determine any production of caring I should give.
The results surprised me I always thought i was a demarcate but this say i am a republican. I don't agree with it at all though. I think that we don't need a teat to say who we are. We are who we are and our decisions should be made by who and what we believe. Not what party we are.
You are liberal. You believe it is the govenment's job to take care of it's citizens ensuring things such as education, health care and freedom from discrimination"
I have been classified as a liberal democrat in these tests just as I have expected. I value accessible healthcare for all citizens; especially those who can't afford it. I also value freedom of all aspects for all Americans. I value education and government funded programs that will educate the next generation of America as much as possible. I think the defense budget should be cut and limited because America is militarily strong as it is. There's virtually no nation on earth that can take on the U.S militarily so what's the point of increasing our defense budget? It's unnecessary and waste of money. The budget on education should be increase twice as much. Every citizen of this good country should have access to not only basic but superior education. These are the people who'll be ruling America in the next 40 years. How much of money is invested educating them will have a tremendous effect on how they turn out to be. I also value freedom of all sorts: freedom to practice or not practice any religion, freedom of speech and the freedom to bear arms. There are those who believe that the united states has a native religion and that i's christianity. Those people are highly misinformed because this nation was found on the notion of freedom of religion. So people need to be more tolerant of others and their practices.
My results for the first quiz were: Overall, I scored as an average democrat. On economic issues, I scored more as an average independent. On social issues, I scored as very liberal. On the second quiz, I scored as a Liberal. Apparently I believe it is the government’s job to take care of its citizens ensuring things such as education, health care and freedom from discrimination. I don’t really follow politics and they aren’t really of any interest to me. I mean don’t get me wrong, they are interesting. However, I feel there are a lot more useful things I can do with my time then worry about what the government is or isn’t going to do. I do follow it enough to make sure I am aware of where I stand with my rights, etc. But I am one of those people that do not vote and believe that my vote will not affect the outcome either way.

The results from both quizzes were that I am a independant democrat.
Political Party Quiz
Your Result: Green Party
You are a populist and environmentalist. You believe corporate America is destroying not only this country, but the planet as a whole. Businesses should be forced to protect both it's workers and the environment. If industry is left to their own ends to will ruin our environment in which we all have to live while exploiting the working class.
Result Breakdown:
76% Green Party
66% Democratic Party
65% Modern Whig Party
47% Republican Party
34% Constitution Party
32% Libertarian Party
Your Result: Democratic Party
