This is a good question. I do think all people should have a right to have healthcare, but I do not think people with a lot of money should be able to pay off doctors to get the top care. I don't think that people with less money should have to see doctors who are of low quality either. I think we should all have to pay into the healthcare or have it all provided, i dont think its fair to make some people pay and others not. I, myself have been out of healthcare for quite a few years of my life and I have realized that during those times were when I ended up having the worse health conditions. For example, in 2006 I was out of health insurance and ended up having a major surgery to remove a tumor from my ovary. I am still paying the bills a little at a time for this procedure. So, yes, I think we should all be able to have health care and all be able to see the same doctors and have the same good quality of care no matter how much we make. I do not think it is good to be without healthcare and I do not think it is fair that in AZ you must have children to be on AHCCCS medical. I do not have children, I was laid off from work, I cannot afford private insurance, I do not think it is fair that I have to go without, and discontinue medications I cant afford, and pay a high amount just to see a doctor out of pocket.
I think that health care and any other money service that is provided to you by the government is a privilege. I figure that any financial service that is not your own, is some sort of allowance system that you had when you were a child. When you were small and did the things that were asked of you, you got what you wanted. If you were brat, you deserved nothing and got nothing. The same principles that existed back then exist today. People that cannot afford to live on their own, fit certain guidelines that allow them to get money from the government. If they violate the guidelines set by the government, they get their privileges revoked.
I understand that people would say that it is the government's right to help the people. The government has a right to take whatever actions they want to help people. For instance, if a senior citizen said that they needed money to live on their own, the government could just put the citizen in a retirement home instead of just handing them money. I think that alternatives such as these are needed. Because that giving money to people is feeding a problem, rather than fixing it.
Healthcare is a fundamental right. Americans should be able to gather benefits for healthcare taxes they pay into. For some, health coverage is the difference between life and death. Being able to afford private insurance does not make someone more deserving of care. More and more companies are dropping their health coverage or lowering the percent to which they will cover on behalf of employees, to counter act a down economy and rising costs. Should we wait for health coverage costs to get so high that only the wealthy can afford them? I think not. Everyone is entitled to healthcare. In order to be a productive part of society, one must be fit enough to participate in it.
Health care is a fundamental right. This is obviously a very huge topic right now. Health care is as much a right to me, a 30-year-old single mother, as it is a right for my 87-year-old grandmother. In larger countries, besides USA, health care is as much a fundamental right as education, police and fire protection. I feel that here in America we have one of the most confusing and complicated health care systems in order to keep people confused that the only one making money off of all of the health care is the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. All humans have the right to health care, and especially living in a country that is so in to equality, it doesn’t make sense that we keep the rich so healthy, and the poor so incredibly sick. It says a lot for what this country is really about.
Unfortunately, healthcare is a privilege instead of a fundamental right among people in our country. If it was a right, that would mean patients wouldn't need permission when seeking medical help. Insurance companies and the Government would have to pay for services regardless of the situations. Also, if was a right that would mean that patients can seek medical services for any reason they have and the doctors and staffs would have to provide them their services because it is their rights. I think there should be limitations on when to provide medical assistant to those in need. For instance, if someone is dying and need a major surgery, the government, taxpayers and people who are more fortunate should help provide medical help, assistant and resources to others less fortunate. This is a good will to mankind, to preserve our living species we must help each other. In reality, the Government can not afford to provide everyone with healthcare. I do believe that all people should have the privilege of having medical care when they need it most. Especially people who can not afford healthcare and the elders among other groups. I think we all should have the privilege of having medical help, the people, the government, the taxpayers should all come together and change the world by helping each other. Preserving the human life should be a priority for everyone.
I believe that healthcare is a fundamental right. About a year ago I watched a documentary by Michael Moore "Sicko", on healthcare in the United States. It was shocking learning about how expensive or should I say greedy America is when it comes to healthcare, when in some countries it is absolutely free! No one should be denied the right to survive, because they can not afford or posses health insurance. We live in a country of greed. Surgeries, procedures, medications, doctors visit are definitely over priced. I think we forget about what is valued, money or human life. Sorry if I am a little off topic, all in all it is everyone's right to have healthcare whether they can afford it or not.
This question is sort of hard because i spent 2 hours rambling on because alot goes into this its not just a cut and dry type of question. I think that healthcare is a privilege that should be given to every citizen unless it is abused I.e Drivers license. I feel that it is not fair that I work and go to school but do not qualify for health care because i dont have any children (and i pay higher taxes) when there are people who dont do anything with themselves except get government benefits that they dont put into it but get the benefits. I think that social security is a scam and we have no choice if we pay it or not. i think the funds that go to social security should be used for healthcare while we pay into it rather then a promise to pay it back to you when your 70 .... if you live that long. I think the problem with healthcare is that the prices are not really regulated in my opinion i feel its priced out of greed more than actual cost. I had an ambulance ride that was 7 miles and it cost 2k because i didnt have insurance i would love to hear the explanation of cost on that one... No one should have to worry about getting hurt and not being treated or certain procedures being offered to those with money compared to those without. I think it is a privilege that everyone should be able to get as long as they dont abuse it like going to the hospital everyday for small issues, self mutilation, drug seekers ect.
I believe currently in the US that health care is a privilege. If you can afford it, you can have it. If you can’t afford it, you have to decide if it is really necessary for you to go to the doctor. You try and decide if you really need that medication that the doctor has prescribed. You wait to see if you really need that test that the doctor has ordered. I have health insurance and sometimes still make these choices. I have an insurance plan with such a high deductible, that it makes it almost impossible for me to pay for services out of pocket.
Ensuring that all Americans have the right to health care will decrease health care costs by allowing people to receive regular and preventive medical care and not wait until they are chronically ill to seek treatment when medical costs are much higher. Providing all citizens the right to health care is good for economic productivity. When people have access to health care, they live healthier and longer lives, thus allowing them to contribute to society for a longer time.
I believe that healthcare is a privilege to all of us here in the U.S. Similar to many other countries, the U.S. has subsidized a huge portion of healthcare costs by simply giving companies a chance to claim a tax credit for any investments that are made. This all relates back to our jobs and our way of life. Some countries have poverty stricken areas while other sections have the wealthiest in the word. We do not need to find ways to save money, but better ways to make money. The U.S. dollar has weakened and this drives costs up. We as the consumers need to be aware of the pitfalls of any health plan and still find ways to make enough money to stay ahead of the curve. When I was laid off, I had to find ways get coverage. This meant that I needed to find a stable job that would support my family while my husband was working to provide.
I believe healthcare is a privilege but a privilege that everyone should have access to on some level. And I think with this privilege we all have to take responsibility for are own health. I believe health education for everyone is essential in providing good health care. The uneducated need to be educated as to the problems of smoking, obesity, alcohol and drug abuse, sexually transmitted diseases and general principles of good hygiene and that type of education should be made universal to everyone. Basic emergency care and general care should be made available to those who cannot afford it and there should be a small emphasis on education. On the other hand if someone works hard makes a good living and puts a great deal of emphasis on their own health they should not be penalized by not being able to obtain the best of care if that’s where they want to put their money. An example would be how often do you see people paying lots of money for cellphones, expensive jeans, plasma TVs, automobiles, drugs and alcohol but are unwilling to pay anything towards healthcare? There certainly should be a safety net for those who cannot afford any healthcare. And there certainly should be affordable healthcare available for those who are willing to pay for healthcare. But I’m not sure that everyone should afford the same care if they’re unwilling to pay towards it. I don’t believe we can inspect nor do I think its even possible for our government to pay for healthcare for everyone. I think we all have a responsibility to take interest and accountability for are own health and to be willing to pay for are healthcare just as we would pay for those special tennis shoes, cell phone or new jeans.
